Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya has confirmed that final touches on the tartan track installation at Nyayo National Stadium are expected to be completed within a week.

The facility is being prepared to serve as a key training ground for Kenyan athletes.

Speaking during a site inspection, Mvurya expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work and emphasized the government’s commitment to fast-tracking the project to support national athletics.

“We came to assess the progress on the new tartan track, which is already underway. We expect to complete it within the next week,” he said.

In addition to the track, Nyayo Stadium will also receive a canopy over the main stands and undergo further renovations.
