Kenya’s First Lady, Rachel Ruto, has paid tribute to fathers across the country, praising their sacrifices, guidance and commitment to their families as the nation marked Father’s Day.
In a heartfelt message, the First Lady recognised fathers as pillars of their families, noting that many work tirelessly behind the scenes to provide, nurture and instil values in the next generation.
She thanked fathers for the lessons they teach, the support they offer during difficult moments and the sacrifices they make out of love for their families. According to Rachel, fathers play a crucial role in shaping society through the values and principles they pass on to their children.
“To all fathers across our beloved nation, thank you for every lesson, every prayer whispered in silence, every hand held through difficult moments, and every sacrifice made out of love, she said.
The First Lady also paid special tribute to her husband, President William Ruto, describing him as a devoted father whose commitment to family continues to inspire those around him.

She noted that the president’s dedication to serving Kenyans mirrors the qualities associated with fatherhood, including care, responsibility and sacrifice. Rachel Ruto thanked him for his love, wisdom and unwavering support both as a husband and as a leader.
“And to my dear husband, His Excellency President William Samoei Ruto, the father of our children and a father whose devotion to family remains a source of strength and inspiration to us all. As the father of our nation, your commitment to serving the people of Kenya, carrying their hopes, and working towards a better future reflects the same values of care, responsibility, and sacrifice that define fatherhood. Thank you for your love, wisdom, and steadfast presence,” Rachel said.
As the country celebrated Father’s Day, the First Lady wished all fathers good health, grace and the fulfilment that comes from seeing their efforts bear fruit in the lives of their children and communities.
