Olympic bronze medalist Faith Cherotich extended her outstanding form this season by claiming a dominant victory in the 3,000m steeplechase at the Bislett Games in Oslo, Norway, on Thursday night.
Cherotich stormed to the finish in a world-leading time and new meeting record of 9:02.60, securing her second Diamond League win of the season following her triumph in Doha last month.
Trailing closely behind was Olympic champion Winfred Yavi, the Kenyan-born Bahraini, who clocked 9:02.76 for second place.
Tunisia’s Marwa Bouyazani completed the podium in third with a time of 9:06.84.
In the men’s 800m, Olympic 800m champion Emmanuel Wanyonyi secured his first Diamond League win of the season, producing a season-best time of 1:42.78.
Mohammed Attaoui of Spain finished second in 1:42.90, with Algeria’s Djamel Sedjati taking third.
Kenya’s Timothy Cheruiyot finished fourth in the prestigious Dream Mile, which was won by Portugal’s Isaac Nader.

Meanwhile, Olympic champion Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia clinched her first Diamond League victory of the season in the women’s 100m, clocking a seasonal best of 10.89.
Marie-Josée Ta Lou of Ivory Coast followed in 11.00, while Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith took third in 11.08.
