Eberechi Eze struck against his former club as Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace to move four points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Eze, who joined the Gunners in the summer for £67 million, scored the decisive goal from a trademark Arsenal set piece.
Declan Rice delivered a precise free-kick into the box, Gabriel nodded it down, and Eze finished acrobatically into the bottom corner.
Crystal Palace, coming off a midweek defeat to AEK Larnaca, showed flashes of resistance through Jean-Philippe Mateta, who battled tirelessly against Arsenal’s solid back line, but goalkeeper David Raya remained largely untested.
Arsenal came close to extending their lead after the break — Gabriel struck the crossbar with a powerful header, while Bukayo Saka curled just wide from the edge of the box.
The result stretched Arsenal’s unbeaten run to 10 matches in all competitions, with the Gunners having now won five straight league games without conceding a goal.
