Kenyan actor and activist Eric Omondi has invited entertainers and artists to a Requiem Mass for the late Shalkidoh, a renowned personality in Kenya’s music sector.

Sharing a personal invitation on social media, Eric asked artists to accompany him to All Saints Cathedral this Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.

“Hello guys, I am inviting Kenyan artists to join us this Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at All Saints Cathedral as we hold a Requiem Mass for our brother Shalkidoh. Let’s give him our final respect. Asante,” Eric wrote.

The post has, however, provoked emotional reactions from fellow artists and fans, who have lamented the death of the artist and commended Eric for bringing together the creative community in solidarity.

Shalkidoh, whose participation in the music industry in Kenya has been widely documented, had won the heart of many with his talent. His passing has left a huge vacuum in the entertainment industry, and condolences keep flowing on social media platforms.

Eric Omondi, who has used his platform often to demand the welfare of artists, reminded his fans to remain united during difficult moments.

“We celebrate Shalkidoh’s talent, his energy, and his spirit. Let’s show love and unity as we say goodbye,” was another post beneath Eric’s.

The requiem mass should bring together artists, friends, and fans to pay their last respects before Shalkidoh’s eventual departure.

May his soul rest in peace.
