The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Kenya Scouts Association have begun discussions on a strategic partnership aimed at promoting ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption values among young people across Kenya.
The proposed collaboration was discussed during a meeting at the Kenya Scouts Association headquarters at Rowallan Camp, where EACC Commissioner John Ogallo led a Commission delegation in talks with the Association’s Chief Executive Officer, Moses Danda.
The initiative seeks to combine the strengths of both institutions to nurture a generation of responsible and ethical citizens through structured youth programmes focused on accountability, integrity, and good governance.
Speaking during the meeting, Commissioner Ogallo said the fight against corruption requires the involvement of all sectors of society, particularly young people.
“A strategic partnership between Integrity Clubs and the Kenya Scouts Association would strengthen values education and provide learners with practical opportunities to translate values into action,” said Ogallo.
The discussions identified several areas of cooperation, including joint programmes and awareness campaigns designed to instill ethics, integrity, and accountability among young people.
The proposed partnership builds on EACC’s preventive approach to combating corruption through public education and values-based initiatives.
The meeting also reviewed the Commission’s recent participation in the National Scouts Inter-Patrol Competition at Mount Kenya University, where EACC’s Education and Awareness team conducted sensitisation sessions on ethics, integrity, and anti-corruption.
Also present were EACC Director of Preventive Services Vincent Okong’o and Deputy Director Dr. Emily Mworia, who reaffirmed the Commission’s commitment to working closely with the Kenya Scouts Association in implementing the initiative.
Welcoming the proposal, Kenya Scouts Association CEO Moses Danda said the organisation is ready to formalise the partnership, noting that it would provide an important platform for nurturing young people into champions of integrity.
