The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) and the Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to work together more closely to fight corruption and raise ethical standards in the human resource profession.
Abdi Mohamud, the Chief Executive Officer of the EACC, spoke at the signing ceremony and said that the partnership would help the Commission’s work to promote accountability, integrity, and ethical behavior in institutions.
He said that regulatory bodies are very important for creating ethical cultures and that the Commission would fully carry out the agreement.
The MoU, according to EACC Chairperson Dr. David Oginde, is a significant step in bolstering integrity in both public and private institutions.
According to him, the partnership would enhance professional oversight, support anti-corruption initiatives, and advance equitable human resource practices that increase accountability nationwide.
Odero Philip Dalmas, National Chairman of IHRM, praised the collaboration, stating that it supports the Institute’s mission to develop moral, people-focused HR professionals. He promised that the Institute would carry out the areas of cooperation that had been decided upon.
Through training and capacity-building programs, the Institute will continue to promote ethical HR practices, according to IHRM Chief Executive Officer Quresha Abdullahi.
