Renson Igonga, the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), has been recognized as the best Public Service CEO at the 2025 Digital Transformation Public Sector Awards held in Mombasa. This prestigious honor comes as a result of his outstanding work in driving digital innovation within the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP).
The award was presented to Igonga by the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communication, and Digital Economy, William Kabogo, during a ceremony on Friday, February 28. This recognition highlights Igonga’s leadership and his commitment to bringing the ODPP into the digital age, improving efficiency and service delivery within the public sector.
Igonga expressed his excitement about the digital transformation taking place within his office. “We are excited by the digital transformation, and I assure you the ODPP will be at the forefront of embracing the digital era,” he said. The DPP ranked second out of six nominees in his category, following a rigorous evaluation by a panel of judges from both public and private sectors.
This latest accolade adds to Igonga’s growing list of achievements. In 2024, he was elected President of the Africa Prosecutors Association (APA) during a conference in Morocco. He was also honored with the Chief of the Order of the Burning Spear (CBS) award by President William Ruto at State House in Nairobi, further solidifying his role as a respected leader in Kenya’s public service.
Igonga’s leadership continues to inspire positive changes within the ODPP, positioning the office as a key player in the digital transformation of the public sector.
