Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has affirmed that the Kenya Kwanza administration remains committed to delivering development and government services to all Kenyans, irrespective of their political affiliation.

Speaking on Saturday afternoon during a Saccos and Groups Empowerment Program held in Katangi, Yatta Constituency, Machakos County, the Deputy President emphasized national unity and equal access to resources, cautioning against divisive politics.“Kenya is one country. We all pay taxes and deserve equal treatment. No Kenyan should be punished for their political beliefs,” Kindiki stated, urging leaders to stop preaching disunity.

Kindiki noted that he would continue touring various regions to inform citizens about ongoing and upcoming government programs, brushing off critics who have accused the administration of political bias or inaction.“We’re not in campaign season.

This is a time for service delivery. When campaign time comes, everyone will present their track record,” he said.In a direct message to Wiper Party Leader and former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka, the DP urged him to nurture young political leaders from the region and avoid associating with individuals he described as promoters of “bad politics.”

The Deputy President highlighted five key government job creation initiatives currently underway. These include programs focused on digital jobs, overseas employment opportunities, and the Climate WorX initiative. He also pointed to the affordable housing program and construction of modern produce markets as transformative efforts aimed at revitalizing the economy and boosting household incomes.“

Affordable housing is not just about shelter. We are using it to stimulate the economy, create jobs, and provide decent accommodation for our youth, especially students,” Kindiki added.

In Machakos County, the government plans to construct 2,500 student hostel units at Machakos University at a cost of Ksh2 billion. Matuu Technical Institute will receive 340 units worth Ksh165 million, while 200 affordable houses will be built in Matuu Town.

He also announced the last-mile electricity connectivity project worth Ksh1.4 billion, targeting 6,500 households across the county, including 500 households in Yatta Constituency allocated Ksh70 million.

Kindiki further pledged the government’s commitment to infrastructure development in the region, including the planned construction of the Matuu-Ikombe-Katangi Road.

The DP was accompanied by a host of leaders including MPs Vincent Musyoka (Mwala), Joshua Mwalyo (Masinga), Nimrod Mbai (Kitui East), Mwengi Mutuse (Kibwezi West), Yatta politician Anastacia Muendo, and Maendeleo ya Wanawake Chairperson Mama Rahab Muiu.
