Laikipia East legislator, Mwangi Kiunjuri, has called on residents of the Mt. Kenya region to refrain from harboring anger towards their elected leaders and instead support them in delivering on their promises.
Speaking during a public participation meeting in Tigithi Ward, Laikipia County, Kiunjuri addressed the growing frustration among locals over the slow pace of development in the area.
He urged the community to avoid letting resentment hinder progress, as excessive anger could undermine the implementation of crucial projects.
“Too much bitterness will only delay our development. We need to unite and support our leaders so that we can move forward together,” Kiunjuri said.

He also responded to accusations from some residents who have voiced disappointment in their leaders’ performance, saying, “The political season is in its final year. This is the time you will ask us what we’ve done since you elected us. I hear now that some of you are saying you don’t want leaders to visit your areas, but who will bring the development if we’re not welcome? If you chased me away, who would be talking to you about issues like electricity?”
Kiunjuri emphasized that leaders, including the President, should be judged by their track record at the end of their term in office, urging patience and understanding as they work to fulfill their commitments.
