Harambee Starlets forward Cynthia Shilwatso has signed with Turkish Women’s First League side Beşiktaş United Payment Kadın Football Club.
Shilwatso’s move to Beşiktaş comes after a spell with Ukrainian club Kryvbas Women, where she made notable appearances in the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the Ukrainian top flight.
In her time at Kryvbas, she scored seven goals in 16 appearances, though her time at the club was cut short by injury.
The 24-year-old has recently been training with Mathare United Women and is set to make her debut for Beşiktaş today in an away match against Fenerbahçe.

Shilwatso becomes the second Kenyan player to represent Beşiktaş, following Esse Akida, who joined the club in 2019.
Akida made two appearances in the Turkish Women’s First Football League before the season was interrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
A former striker for Vihiga Queens, Shilwatso’s career has also included stints in Spain’s top women’s league with DUX Logroño and in Tanzania with Fountain Gate Princess.
