A recent dispute has erupted at Dolly Parton’s estate when the manager of the late country music legend accused her nephew of making violent threats.
The conflict comes as the singer’s manager Danny Nozell, filed a request for a restraining order against the nephew Bryan Seaver, alleging he was engaged in escalating campaign of threats to extort money from the vast enterprise.
Seaver allegedly threatened to damage Dolly Parton’s brand partnerships unless he was compensated. He denied that his communications were intended as threats, describing them as private “rage talk” made while grieving the loss his aunt.
“We refuse to be intimidated by those whose actions we believe are being taken in bad faith and with the intent to profit from the life of someone who willingly gave so much,” Beaver said.
According to Danny, court documents quoted a series of exchanges which someone identified by the estate as Seaver, threatened to destroy Parton’s brand.
Danny has worked for Parton for over twenty years, first as a tour consultant and later her manager.
He added that Parton worked up until her death and involved in multiple projects, envisioned a legacy that continued long beyond her death. Parton’s brand is more than just music; it encompasses philanthropy, business ventures and cultural influence.
The estate now faces a public tug of war over that legacy.
