Kenyan gospel entertainer Samuel Muraya, popularly known as DJ Mo, is recovering in hospital after he was attacked by suspected robbers armed with pangas in the Kenol area of Murang’a County.
The incident was confirmed by his wife, Linet Munyali, also known as Size 8 Reborn, who revealed that the attackers confronted the DJ and robbed him of his phone during the violent encounter.
According to the singer, the gospel DJ sustained injuries during the attack but survived the frightening ordeal and is currently receiving treatment.
“Today I give God glory for protecting my husband. Thieves attacked him with a panga in Kenol and took his phone, but he is alive,” she shared in an emotional message online while thanking God for preserving his life.
Reports indicate that the incident occurred as the entertainer was travelling through the busy Kenol junction when the armed suspects struck, leaving him with cuts on his arm before fleeing with his belongings.
Several good Samaritans reportedly stepped in to assist the injured DJ before he was taken for treatment.
The attack sparked concern among fans, fellow entertainers and members of the gospel community, with many taking to social media to wish the popular DJ a quick recovery.
DJ Mo is one of Kenya’s most recognised gospel DJs and is widely known for promoting gospel music through his platform System Unit and his former role on the TV show Crossover 101 on NTV Kenya, which helped popularise gospel music across the country.
