Detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations have arrested a wanted criminal in Mtwapa as the crackdown on criminal gangs intensified.
The security officers had been in hot pursuit of David Juma Mweru, a notorious figure who linked with several robbery incidents in the said area.
He had evaded police traps on multiple occasions while shifting hideouts.
Acting on tip off, detectives arrested him and then did a search at his house. They recovered five rounds of ammunition.
The suspect is currently in custody while undergoing further processing as investigations intensify to establish the full extent of his criminal links and possible accomplices.
