Renowned city lawyer Danstan Omari has announced his interest in seeking an elective seat in the 2027 General Election, which is about three years away.
In an interview, Omari declared that he would be vying for the Nairobi senatorial seat in the polls, seeking to replace incumbent Senator Edwin Sifuna.
The lawyer said that Nairobi requires a strong and capable leader, exuding confidence that he is the ideal candidate for the job.
Omari insinuated that Sifuna might vie for the gubernatorial seat, increasing his chances of clinching the senatorial seat.
''Nairobi needs a solid person to be the Senator. Sifuna is a solid person, however, over the years, we have seen the people at the helm shift between senatorial and gubernatorial roles, from the days of Sonko, Sakaja, and the rest. 'Therefore, this is the perfect time for Sifuna to pursue the gubernatorial role. I will be in the race to take over from him so that in 2032, I can be the Governor,'' said Sifuna.
