Health Cabinet Secretary Hon. Aden Duale on Wednesday joined a high-level consultative meeting with the Council of Governors to review the progress of the Universal Health Coverage (UHC) rollout across the country.
The meeting, chaired by Tharaka Nithi Governor H.E. Muthomi Njuki, brought together national and county leaders to assess collaboration efforts and chart the way forward in strengthening healthcare delivery.
In his remarks, CS Duale highlighted key milestones in the health sector and emphasized the Ministry’s dedication to working closely with public, private, and development partners to expand access to quality health services under UHC.
He stressed the importance of continued county-level collaboration in advancing the government’s health reforms, especially in primary healthcare and digitization.
Addressing concerns over maternal mortality, the CS directed relevant regulatory bodies to submit quarterly reports to improve monitoring and guide targeted interventions.
The meeting also featured the signing of the Intergovernmental Participation Agreement on health digitization. Discussions covered various ongoing initiatives by the Ministry, including enhancing medical waste management, building resilient health systems, and scaling up primary healthcare services.
