Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Alice Wahome, has categorically denied the statement by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, in which he described her as the ‘flower girl’ of President William Ruto’s Cabinet.

While speaking in Kandara, Murang’a County, Wahome accused Gachagua of continuously trying to belittle and undermine her status in government.

She emphasized that her work is a clear indication of a good relationship she has with President Ruto and with the Principal Secretaries serving in her ministry. “It is because of my effectiveness in leadership that I continue to serve Kenyans with my usual dedication,” said Wahome.

The CS went on to mention a variety of initiatives presently underway which fall under her portfolio, such as the building of modern markets, the implementation of the government’s Affordable Housing scheme, and the development of the road network.

She also gave highlights of her ministry’s achievements in land management and reforms. She made the statement at a time when the Kenyans leaders confrontation is becoming more intense, scene Mt. Kenya region, where the leaders have been involved in the exchange of sharp words.
