The government of Kenya, through the Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA), has resumed the construction of Dhoye Bridge located in Usenge, Siaya county.

The project, which commenced in July 2021, had previously stalled until President William Ruto intervened in 2023. The bridge now stands at 38% completion.

Construction works have resumed in the strategically located bridge along the Bondo – Usenge Osieko Road.

The delivery of materials is ongoing and on-site activities have progressed significantly.

The Dhoye Bridge acts as a critical link between Siaya and Busia counties. Its completion will accelerate economic development in the region by fostering cross-border trade.

This project is part of President Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza government’s efforts to improve transport infrastructure, regional connectivity and promote equitable development.

The government remains committed to the timely completion of the project.
