A somber mood engulfed Nyamweru village in Lari Constituency, Kiambu County, as hundreds of mourners gathered to bid a final farewell to popular content creator Zacharia Kariuki, better known as KK Mwenyewe.

Zacharia Kariuki, who shot to national fame for his humorous impersonations of Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, was laid to rest Wednesday amid an outpouring of grief from fans, family, and fellow content creators. He passed away after a short illness.

His mother Dorcus Waithera, eulogised her son as a laughter therapist who brought contentment in the hearts of many.

Head of Presidential Special Projects and CreativeEconomy, Dennis Itumbi, pledged government’s support for the content creation industry.

Religious leaders who presided over the burial ceremony took the moment to reflect on the nation’s broader struggles.They called on Kenyans to stay united and prayerful amid rising frustration and hardship, warning that the country is at a crossroads.
