Chinese Ambassador to Kenya, Guo Haiyan, on Wednesday attended the MCEDO Beijing School Donation and Chinese Ambassador Scholarship Award Ceremony, where the Chinese embassy and the Kenya China Education and Training Association (KCETA) donated essential supplies to the school.
During the event, Ambassador Guo awarded Chinese Ambassador scholarships to 20 outstanding students in recognition of their academic excellence. Children from the embassy also performed, adding a cultural touch to the ceremony.
Ambassador Guo highlighted the MCEDO Beijing School as a symbol of the strong friendship and cooperation between China and Kenya.
“The journey of the MCEDO Beijing School is the epitome of China-Kenya friendly cooperation and a vivid example of the profound bond between our peoples,” she said.
She added that China-Kenya relations are currently at their best since the establishment of diplomatic ties and expressed hope that the students of MCEDO Beijing School would grow up to contribute meaningfully to Kenya’s development and further strengthen the friendship between the two countries.
