Chief Justice Martha Koome will today host King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima of the Netherlands at the Supreme Court as part of their four-day state visit to Kenya.
The royal visit, which concludes today, will feature a series of engagements highlighting Kenya-Netherlands cooperation in justice, peace, and security.
In the morning, the Dutch royals will hold discussions with CJ Koome and other key figures in the justice sector, particularly women leaders. The meeting will focus on the role of an independent judiciary in ensuring inclusive access to justice, as well as ongoing Dutch-Kenyan initiatives in the sector.
The delegation will also tour the Judiciary Museum, which chronicles the evolution of Kenya’s judicial system.

Later in the afternoon, the King and Queen will visit the International Peace Support Training Centre (IPSTC), a key institution that trains military personnel from across Africa for UN and African Union peacekeeping missions.
The Netherlands has been a major partner in supporting the centre by providing training on intelligence for UN operations.
The visit to the IPSTC will also address future defence cooperation between the two nations, as well as efforts to counter violent extremism.
The royals will engage with experts on the role of mothers and young people in preventing radicalisation.
