Kenyan artist Kevin Kioko, widely known as Bahati, has sparked debate with his latest advice to men regarding love and finances. In a post on Instagram, the musician reflected on relationships while marking his eighth anniversary with his wife, Diana Marua.

Bahati asserted that financial dedication is essential in relationships. He stressed that any man wishing to date or engage in a relationship must be prepared to invest in his partner. As per the artist, men who are unable to spend on their women or refuse to do so should steer clear of dating altogether.

He further critiqued those men who label women as “gold diggers,” indicating that these men are typically the ones who do not provide. “Dear Men, a respectful piece of advice: If you don’t have money, don’t date 🫣,” Bahati stated. “That’s the only way you’ll stop calling women gold diggers.”

Bahati’s remarks have elicited mixed responses. Some individuals resonate with his perspective, believing that financial security is vital in relationships. Conversely, others contend that genuine love should not be linked to material possessions.

Recently, Bahati has been in the spotlight for his extravagant anniversary surprises for Diana. Over the last fortnight, he has presented her with lavish gifts, including land, a housing project, and other luxurious items. One of the most discussed gestures was when Bahati tattooed his wife’s name, “Diana B,” on his arm to symbolize his commitment.
