Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres has claimed the Gerd Müller Trophy, awarded to the top goal scorer across European football for club and country in the 2024–25 season.

The 27-year-old forward netted an astonishing 54 goals in 52 appearances for Portuguese side Sporting CP last season, and added nine more in just six Nations League matches for Sweden.

Gyökeres secured a summer move to Arsenal in a deal worth up to £64 million, following his record-breaking campaign.

Last year, the award was shared by Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane and Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé (for his final season at PSG), with 52 goals apiece.

Previous recipients of the trophy, which was first introduced in 2021, include Robert Lewandowski (twice) and Erling Haaland.
