Chelata Primary School in Nairobi has received a major facelift after the APA Apollo Foundation completed a full re-roofing of its classrooms, ending years of disruptions caused by persistent leaks.
The project was officially handed over today in a ceremony attended by Apollo Investments Group CEO Ashok Shah, who unveiled a commemorative plaque alongside the school’s head teacher, Alice Khayecha Litunda.
Speaking during the event, Mr. Shah said the initiative reflects the foundation’s long-term commitment to education and community development.
“By investing in projects like this, the APA Apollo Foundation reaffirms its commitment to education as a driver of community development. Safe, well-maintained classrooms give children the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive — and that is the impact we strive to create,” he said.
The refurbishment is expected to restore dignity to learners and teachers, providing safer and more conducive spaces for education.
Teachers will now be able to deliver lessons without weather-related interruptions, while pupils benefit from an improved learning environment.
The APA Apollo Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of Apollo Investments Limited, has prioritized education and community upliftment as part of its broader mission to empower future generations.
