Kenyan singer and entrepreneur Akothee has called for calm from her fans, requesting them to respect her personal space and understand that even the stars need peace and privacy at times.

In a candid Facebook post, the self-proclaimed President of Single Mothers shared how fans sometimes forget that public figures also are human. While she said that she appreciates all the love and support, there are moments when she just wants to exist without pressure put on “celebrity Akothee.”

“If you see me in a restaurant, supermarket, airport, or hospital, please allow me to just be. I may not always be ready to smile, pose, or switch into ‘celebrity mode,’” she wrote. “Being a public figure isn’t a full-time act; I’m also human and sometimes need quiet moments to breathe and heal.”

Akothee highlighted that she always has time for her fans, whenever she appears in public events and performances the perfect time for photos and interactions. However, she called for a different approach by supporters in private settings.

“If you want photos and all the energy from me, please come to my events; I always make time for that. But when you meet me in private spaces, a simple wave will do. I promise to wave back,” she added.

The star concluded by reminding fans that mutual respect is key to peace, writing,

“Let’s respect each other space and peace. It’s all love, always. You can translate this into pride, but it’s the truth.”Akothee’s post has stirred a fire online, with many in appreciation of her for her honesty, understanding her private space.
