Kenyan musician Otile Brown has raised concerns that music no longer has the same impact it once had in the previous days.
In a post shared by him, the singer said modern music no longer hits the same, with many songs lacking replay value.
Otile said he has an upcoming extended play (EP), where fans would enjoy listening to from beginning to end.
“Nah, for this coming EP, I’m happy for my real tribe in music. I promise you, No Skips! I had to start over just to find that thing again,” Otile wrote on his Instagram.
He said that the shift has affected him because music remains something he deeply loves, admitting it is painful to feel songs are no longer hitting the same way and are not receiving appreciation.
“I won’t lie, it hurts knowing that music doesn’t hit the same anymore, that songs seem to lack replay value nowadays, and that this thing I worship and love so much isn’t being appreciated the way I feel it should be. Ikanibidi nianze upya,” he wrote.
He acknowledged that the new direction might make him sound like a newcomer, but he insisted the change as necessary.
He did not disclose the EP’s release date or track list, but his comments indicate that he is placing particular emphasis on the overall listening experience.
