President William Ruto has announced plans to improve road infrastructure and expand electricity access in Nandi County as the government continues implementing development projects across the region.
Speaking to residents of Kapsabet Town in Emgwen Constituency, the President outlined ongoing transformation initiatives and pledged to construct 12 kilometres of roads within the town.
He also announced plans to expand the Eldoret-Kapsabet-Chavakali road into a four-lane highway, a move expected to improve transport, ease traffic congestion and support economic activities along the corridor.
Ruto said the planned investments would help transform Kapsabet into a vibrant economic hub by improving connectivity and creating opportunities for businesses and residents.
In another development, the President flagged off the KSh351 million Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project in Emgwen Constituency.
The project is expected to connect 3,851 households to electricity, extending access to power and supporting economic and social activities in the area.
Improved electricity access is expected to benefit households, small businesses and other enterprises by enabling them to use electrical appliances, extend operating hours and improve productivity.
The announcements came alongside the commissioning of the Pioneer Affordable Housing Project in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, as the government advances its infrastructure, housing and energy development agenda.
The initiatives form part of broader efforts to improve living standards, strengthen local economies and expand access to essential services across the country.
