Kenya has reaffirmed its position as a leader in the fight against doping, pledging full compliance with international standards and a continued commitment to clean, fair and credible sport.

Kenyan officials, led by Youth Affairs, Creative Economy and Sports Cabinet Secretary Salim Mvurya, held a high-level discussion with World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) President Mr. Witold Banka and WADA Africa Office Director Mr. Rodney Swigelaar and discussed the country’s progress and future plans in the fight against doping.

Speaking at the meeting, Mvurya reassured the government is fully compliant with WADA regulations and its investment in systems designed to protect athletes and uphold fairness.

“I reaffirmed Kenya’s full WADA compliance and our continued progress through increased testing, education and awareness, sanctioning and prosecution, and intelligence-led investigations,” Mvurya said.

He also emphasized that the government has dedicated itself to sustaining policies, institutional and financial support that protect clean athletes.

It also upholds integrity in sports, which strengthen Kenya’s standing as a respected global sporting nation and reassured the restoration of confidence in Kenyan athletes globally.

Banka is also expected to meet President William Ruto and other key stakeholders in Kenya’s sport during his visit to Kenya.
