President William Ruto has awarded Kamagambo University a Letter of Interim Authority, paving the way for the institution to offer higher education opportunities to students in Migori County and across Kenya.
The President made the announcement after awarding the university the letter at State House Lodge in Kisumu County.
Ruto said the establishment of the university will expand access to higher education while creating opportunities for young people to acquire skills in various professional fields.
“Awarded Kamagambo University a Letter of Interim Authority at State House Lodge, Kisumu County.The university will create opportunities for young people in Migori County and the entire country to pursue higher education while training teachers, entrepreneurs and professionals needed to drive Kenya’s transformation,”he said in a statement.
He added that Kamagambo University will focus on training teachers, entrepreneurs and other professionals expected to contribute to Kenya’s transformation and economic development.
The institution is expected to provide increased opportunities for students from Migori County and other parts of the country seeking higher education.
The development marks a step toward the university’s establishment and expansion of higher education opportunities in the region.
