Digital content creator and aspiring DJ Purity Vishenwa, popularly known as Pritty Vishy, has opened up about the experience behind the decks for her first-ever DJ gig turning into an emotional breakdown.
Pritty revealed that she broke down after what was meant to be a happy moment turned into a nightmare after faulty equipment disrupted her set, cutting short her performance and leaving her in tears.
In a post shared on her Instagram page, she said had prepared everything for her first gig and was confident she would deliver her best.
“After the show, when I went to my house, I really cried because I trained for it. I believed in myself; I knew I was supposed to give my very best and felt like I failed as a beginner,” Pritty said in a statement.
Pritty was assured by her team it wasn’t her fault that their equipment failed, as it was her first gig and sometimes equipment fails due to different challenges that occur.
“My team really tried to make me understand that it was my first gig and it wasn’t my fault that their equipment failed me. I was ready, happy and nervous at the same time,” she explained.
She added that she has accepted the breakdown as it is part of her learning journey and she is grateful to have encountered what she did because it has opened her eyes in one way or another.
