The ruling United Democratic Alliance remains the country’s most popular political party, although its lead over the Orange Democratic Movement has narrowed significantly, according to the latest survey by Infotrak Research and Consulting.

The poll shows UDA commanding 22 per cent support nationally, placing it just one percentage point ahead of ODM, which registered 21 per cent in the latest party popularity rankings.

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua-backed Democracy for Citizens Party emerged as the third most popular political outfit with 9 per cent support, highlighting its growing influence in the country’s opposition politics.

The survey placed the Jubilee Party fourth with 6 per cent support, followed by the Wiper Democratic Movement at 5 per cent.

However, the findings also point to a significant level of voter disengagement or indecision ahead of the 2027 General Election. According to the survey, 29 per cent of respondents said they do not identify with any political party or currently have no party preference.

A further 7 per cent declined to disclose their political affiliation, while 2 per cent indicated support for other smaller political parties outside the leading five.

The results suggest Kenya’s political landscape remains highly competitive and fluid, with established parties facing growing pressure from emerging political formations and a large bloc of undecided voters who could prove decisive in the 2027 presidential race.

The survey comes amid heightened political activity and early political realignments as parties position themselves for the next General Election.
