Popular Mugithi singer Samuel Muchoki, alias Samidoh, will know the outcome of the rape case facing him next month after a court set a date for judgment.
The decision was made during a mention of the case on Monday, with the court indicating that judgment will be delivered on August 21, 2026. The matter is before a court in Kajiado County.
The case has attracted widespread public attention because of Samidoh’s status as one of Kenya’s most popular Kikuyu musicians and his role as a former police officer.
The singer is accused by a woman of raping her during a trip in the United States in 2021. He has denied the allegations.
In earlier proceedings, the High Court issued interim orders barring Samidoh from contacting or interfering with the complainant. The court also directed the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to preserve forensic evidence linked to the case.
The judgment date comes at a time when Samidoh has remained active in the entertainment scene, continuing to perform at local and international shows despite the ongoing court battle.
With the court now setting a specific date, the case has entered its final stage, and both the complainant and the musician are expected to appear when the judgment is delivered.
