Isuzu East Africa has officially handed over the final unit of the Eliud Kipchoge 1:59 Limited Edition D-Max to the legendary marathoner, marking the end of a three-year vehicle campaign that celebrated his historic sub-two-hour marathon.
The handover ceremony held in Nairobi, was attended by Isuzu East Africa Managing Director Rita Kavashe, Kipchoge and his wife Grace Sugut. Kipchoge purchased the last unit of the 159th special edition, a symbolic nod his record-breaking 1:59.40 run in Vienna in 2019.
Kipchoge became the first human to run a marathon in under two hours.
The campaign led to the creation of the Kipchoge 1:59 Club, bringing together owners who identify with his message of excellence and perseverance, offering a unique ownership experience tied to his sporting legacy.
Isuzu did not only honor a national hero but it reinforced its role in the Kenya automotive industry transformation. They produce around 15,000 vehicles annually but operating at only 34% of installed capacity.
For Eliud Kipchoge last edition of the 1:59 Limited D-Max edition is more than a ceremonial event; it is a celebration of Kenyan excellence, an honor to a global icon and a statement of confidence in the future of local automotive assembly.
