The National Police Service (NPS) has announced a Special Edition newsletter that highlights the journey, achievement and impact of the UN, supported, Kenya, led Multinational Security Support (MSS) mission in Haiti.

The book gives a detailed historical summary of the mission, showing how it all started from the international discussions after Haiti asked for security help, to the deployment of the first Kenyan police contingent and the other milestones achieved.

The newsletter explains the transition of the MSS mission into the Gang Suppression Force (GSF) and records Kenya supporting stability and security strengthening in Haiti.

Also, it praises Kenyan police officers’ outstanding professionalism, resilience, and discipline who were deployed in one of the world’s most difficult security environments.

In the view of the NPS, the operation is one of the evidences of Kenya’s commitment to international peace support operations based on respect for human rights, partnership, and global cooperation.

The publication also pays tributes to officers serving abroad, acknowledging their role in promoting peace, security, and humanitarian causes while engaging with international partners.

The Kenya-led MSS mission was created among the various international endeavours to help Haiti in the fight against gang based violence and insecurity. Kenyan officers were the key element in the co-ordinated security interventions.

Through the special edition newsletter, the NPS seeks to provide insights into the mission’s progress, challenges and achievements while highlighting Kenya’s growing role in global peace and security initiatives.
