Media personality Oga Obinna has revealed Vurugu 2 cost him more than Ksh20 million to organize and he is already planning for Vurugu 3, which will cost more than Ksh 30 million exceeding the second.
“Budget ilipita Ksh 15 million kitambo sana, na bado tuko na madeni, because I remember a week to, we needed like Ksh 5 million for it to happen…so if you look at the budget ilipita Ksh 20 million,” Obinna said.
The Vurugu began earlier this year when Majembe and Mbavu Destroyer had their boxing match. Then, due to high demand from the public, Obinna organized the second one the on June 20.
He has promised the third Vurugu will be even larger than the second, hinting he might have international collaborations and advanced production techniques to it to go viral globally.
He also stated that Kenya’s entertainment industry can compete internationally if given the right resources and is planned well by organisers.
