President William Ruto has met representatives of the Kenyan diaspora drawn from 40 countries, praising them for promoting the country’s image abroad through hard work and professionalism.
Speaking during the meeting at State House Nairobi, the President described Kenyans living abroad as dependable ambassadors whose contribution continues to strengthen the country’s global reputation.
“Many organisations give sterling accounts of their hard work, consistency, reliability and dependability,” Ruto said.
The Head of State noted that the government has introduced measures aimed at making it easier for Kenyans abroad to engage with services back home.

Among the initiatives highlighted was the integration of diaspora members into the Affordable Housing Programme through the Boma Yangu platform, allowing them to own homes in Kenya remotely.
Ruto also said Kenyans living abroad can now support their families by paying for medical insurance through the Social Health Authority.

The President further revealed that the government is intensifying efforts to secure employment opportunities for Kenyans overseas as part of its labour mobility programme.

“At the same time, we are mobilising Kenyans to find jobs overseas. In the past three years, 540,000 Kenyans have found work abroad following the streamlining of the sector and elimination of fraudsters,” he stated.
