Information, Communications and the Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo has held talks with Nigeria’s Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy Minister Bosun Tijani aimed at strengthening cooperation in the ICT sector.
The meeting took place in Nairobi during Dr. Tijani’s visit to Kenya for the ongoing Africa Forward Summit.
According to Kabogo, the discussions focused on expanding collaboration between Kenya and Nigeria in areas of innovation, digital transformation, knowledge exchange and regional technological development.
“Our discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between Kenya and Nigeria in the ICT sector, exploring opportunities for innovation, digital transformation, knowledge exchange and regional cooperation aimed at advancing Africa’s technological growth and economic integration,’statement read.

The ICT Cabinet Secretary said the two countries are seeking to enhance regional cooperation as part of broader efforts to advance Africa’s digital growth and economic integration.

During the meeting, Dr. Tijani commended Kenya’s progress in technology and digital infrastructure, particularly the implementation of the 100,000-kilometre national fibre connectivity programme.
Kabogo also reiterated President William Ruto’s call for Africa-driven development through effective use of the continent’s resources, talent and innovation.

He expressed optimism over continued engagements between Kenya and Nigeria to deepen ICT collaboration for the benefit of both countries and the wider African continent.
