Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs Musalia Mudavadi has announced that Kenya and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are advancing 13 bilateral cooperation frameworks aimed at strengthening economic and political relations between the two countries.
According to Mudavadi, four of the agreements are ready for signing while nine others are at advanced stages, signaling growing cooperation between Nairobi and Amman in key sectors of the economy.
Speaking after a meeting with Jordan’s Ambassador to Kenya, Rulan Mahmoud Ahmad Samara, Mudavadi said both countries are keen on accelerating trade and unlocking more opportunities for businesses and citizens.
“Kenya and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan are advancing 13 bilateral cooperation frameworks, with four ready for signing and nine at advanced stages, a clear step towards deepening our economic and political partnership,’statement read.
“Kenya and Jordan are focused on translating these frameworks into real economic gains for our people,” Mudavadi stated.
The discussions centered on increasing bilateral trade, which currently stands at approximately USD 43.3 million, through practical initiatives such as trade missions, the establishment of a Kenya–Jordan Business Forum, and enhanced cooperation in customs, agriculture, industry, tourism and entrepreneurship.
Mudavadi further noted that the partnership could open doors for Jordanian investments in sectors including pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, fertiliser production and value addition industries.
