President William Samoei Ruto has appointed Justice Mohamed Abdullahi Warsame as a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya.

His appointment follows his recent nomination by the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).

Ruto made the announcement through a Gazette Notice No. 6559 on Wednesday 5th.

In the notice, the President, exercising powers conferred under Article 166(1)(b) of the Constitution, confirmed Justice Warsame’s elevation to the country’s apex court.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by Article 166(1)(b) of the Constitution of Kenya, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, appoint Hon. Justice Mohamed Abdullahi Warsame to be Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya.”
