Former Baringo North Member of Parliament, Willy Kamuren, has passed away at a hospital in Nairobi, according to his family.

Kamuren was a seasoned politician, serving as Baringo North MP from 1963 to 1969 under the Kenya African Democratic Union (KADU) ticket.

He later returned to Parliament in 1983 as a nominated MP before being re-elected in 1988, serving until 1997.

He was also the owner of Grand Holiday on Acra Road in Nairobi and served as an Assistant Minister in the Office of the President during his political career.

Kamuren’s death is a significant loss to Baringo County, marking the third leader from the region to pass away in less than a month.

The family is expected to provide more details on funeral arrangements soon.
