Former Machakos Town MP Victor Munyaka has declined a job President William Ruto offered him last week.

Munyaka had been appointed as the Chairperson of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre for three years.

Earlier, Munyaka had been nominated Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) at the Ministry of Lands, Public Works and Housing but the position was declared unconstitutional by the court.

“I have learnt of my appointment by His Excellency, President William Ruto as the chairman of the Kenya Animal Genetic Resource Centre through a Kenya Gazette notice dated 3rd October, 2024.

“However, after soul-searching, extensive consultations and in consideration of the current political climate that threatens the realization of the government’s economic transformation agenda, I have made the difficult decision to respectfully decline this appointment,” Munyaka said.

In March this year, Mwala MP Eng. Vincent Musyoka asked Ruto to offer Munyaka a job.

Munyaka who lost his bid to defend his seat in the 2022 general election on a United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party ticket was among several people Ruto appointed into various posts.
