Kenneth Lusaka

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has dismissed all Members of the County Executive Committee (CECM), the County Attorney, and the County Secretary with immediate effect.

He announced the decision on Thursday, April 9, citing his constitutional mandate to ensure effective governance and improved service delivery across the county.

In a statement, Lusaka said the reorganisation was undertaken in the public interest to facilitate the efficient functioning of the county administration and uphold institutional integrity. The governor did not name replacements but promised further communication on interim arrangements and subsequent appointments.

The county government assured residents that essential services would continue without disruption, noting that measures are in place to maintain continuity. Lusaka emphasized that the decision aims to strengthen the administration and improve service delivery to Bungoma residents.

The move comes shortly after the Bungoma County Assembly confirmed receipt of impeachment motions against an unspecified county officer. The motions are still undergoing procedural processing and, once approved by the Speaker and House Business Committee, will be tabled before the assembly.
