The Social Health Authority (SHA)has issued a Stern Warning to Employers Over Delayed SHIF Remittance of their employees. In a statement shared on their social media .

The notice was released on March 12, 2026, the Authority’s Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Mercy Mwangangi, warned that failure to remit these funds directly jeopardizes employees’ access to critical healthcare services.

The “9th Day” Deadline The notice serves as a reminder that under the Social Health Insurance Fund (SHIF) regulations, employers are not only required to deduct the statutory fees from salaries but must also ensure the funds reach the SHA by the monthly deadline., ‘Statement read.
