Major Project Under Progress
The construction of the BICC located at the current Bomas of Kenya premises on Langata- Magadi Road in Nairobi is progressing fast. The project, with an estimated value between Ksh31.5 billion, is being managed by the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) and the working force, which peaks at 3, 000, works in shifts around the clock to meet the set deadlines.
The President has assured that the centre will be ready by April 2026 and will start its operations shortly after.
The premises will be a venue for major international events such as the Africa, France Summit scheduled for May 2026.

Besides the fact that the new convention centre is a complete refurbishing of the obsolete Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC), it offers more.

The whole site measures over 323, 500 square meters, with the convention, centric development taking up more than 100, 000 square meters.

According to industry experts, this venue will be instrumental in putting Nairobi on the map along with other major conference cities like Cape Town, Kigali, Durban and the leading global hubs in the UAE.
