The Principal Secretary for Water and Sanitation, Julius Korir, CBS, on Thursday chaired a meeting of the State Department’s Budget Implementation Committee to review the sector’s financial plans and priorities.
The meeting looked at the status of budget use for FY 2025/26, including both recurrent and development spending.
It also reviewed the Budget Policy Statement for 2025, proposals for the FY 2026/27 budget, Supplementary Estimates No. I, and pending bills.
During the session, PS Korir emphasized the need for careful financial management, timely payment of obligations, and improved budget absorption to ensure that water and sanitation services are delivered efficiently to communities across the country.
He reaffirmed the department’s commitment to accountability, transparency, and the sustainable provision of water and sanitation services for all Kenyans.
