Gor Mahia have completed the signing of midfielder Jackson Dwang from Posta Rangers on a two-year contract as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of the business end of the season.
The record Kenyan champions confirmed the move in January 2026 as part of their efforts to strengthen key areas of the team for the second half of the campaign.
Dwang is widely seen as a direct replacement for influential midfielder Austin Odhiambo, who sealed a move to Lebanese heavyweights Nejmeh SC earlier this week.
Odhiambo’s exit created a creative void in Gor Mahia’s midfield, and the club is confident that Dwang’s energy, positional discipline, and evolving creativity will help address that gap.
The midfielder began his football journey on Nairobi’s amateur scene with Kayole Youth, where his performances caught the eye of former Posta Rangers coach John Kamau.
That exposure earned him a move to Nzoia Sugar, marking his transition into professional football.
At Nzoia Sugar, Dwang quickly established himself, earning praise for his consistency, discipline, and composure in midfield.
He later joined Posta Rangers and grew into a key player for the “Mail Men,” impressing with his work rate, tactical awareness, and ability to link play effectively.
A short stint at Bandari FC followed before he returned to Posta Rangers, where his steady performances continued to attract interest from Gor Mahia’s technical bench.
At international level, Dwang features for the South Sudan national team as a central midfielder.
His progress at club level was rewarded with a senior international debut on September 8, 2023, in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mali.
Gor Mahia believe Dwang’s arrival is a timely and well-considered addition, bringing a blend of youthful energy and growing experience to their midfield options.
