Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino has dismissed claims linking him to recent online attacks directed at the Odinga family, saying he has never instructed anyone to insult or attack them.
In a statement, Owino clarified that political commentator Maverick Aoko is his friend and a strong supporter, but insisted that she operates independently and does not act on his instructions.
“Maverick is an independent minded person. I do not know her sources and I have never told her to attack the Odinga family,” Owino said.
The legislator stressed that despite public assumptions, he does not control or influence what others post on social media platforms, including X.
Owino further reaffirmed his close relationship with members of the Odinga family, describing Winnie Odinga, Raila Odinga Junior and Rosemary Odinga as his personal friends.
He also spoke warmly of Mama Ida Odinga, saying she treats him like her own son whenever he visits.
“How can I insult their only mother,” Owino posed, adding that he holds Mama Ida in high regard for her kindness and support.
The MP said he remains committed to maintaining respect and harmony in his political and personal relationships.
