Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has congratulated the newly elected leaders from the Democracy for the Citizens Party following their victories in the November 27 by elections.

In a statement on Friday, Gachagua praised Douglas Masikonde of Narok Township, David Warui of Kariobangi North, and Dickson Okwiri Aduda of Kisa East for securing wins for the seven month old party.

“Our party, the newest kid in the block, which is only seven months old, has defeated older parties, some of which have been around for more than twenty years,” Gachagua said.

He commended voters in the three wards for standing firm against intimidation, violence, and what he described as state sponsored disruptions, including attacks by armed youths and police.

“I salute the people of Narok Township, Kariobangi North, and Kisa East for exercising their democratic right despite facing intimidation and violence. I also commend them for rejecting voter bribery, which unfortunately still affects our politics,” he added.

Gachagua urged prospective DCP candidates to remain actively engaged with their communities and to continue listening to the people as they prepare for future contests.

“The future looks bright,” he said, expressing optimism about the party’s growth and prospects as Kenya moves closer to the 2027 general elections.
