The body of Corporal Kennedy Mutuku Nzuve, a Kenyan police officer who died while serving in the Kenyan-led Multinational Security Support Mission (MSSM) in Haiti, is set to be repatriated to Nairobi today.

In a statement, the National Police Service (NPS) confirmed the repatriation and identified the fallen officer as a 41-year-old member of the Rapid Deployment Unit (RDU).

Corporal Nzuve died on August 31, 2025, following a road accident that occurred during a peacekeeping operation.

According to reports, he was involved in a crash along the Kenscoff-Petion-Ville Road at Perlerin 9. He was rushed to Lambert Sante Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

“The NPS remains resolute in its commitment to the safety and security of all Kenyans, residents, visitors, and their property. We are also dedicated to fulfilling the mandate of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, in full compliance with international law,” the service said.

Corporal Nzuve’s death comes amid ongoing concerns over the fate of another Kenyan officer, Benedict Kabiru, who was reported missing in Haiti in March 2025.

On Tuesday, during a United Nations Security Council meeting, President William Ruto confirmed that Kabiru had died, stating he was one of three Kenyan officers killed while on duty in Haiti.
