The Public Service Commission (PSC) has released the names of candidates shortlisted for interviews to fill the position of Chairperson and members of the National Land Commission (NLC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday, September 24, the selection panel said the shortlist was drawn from applications submitted by August 27, 2025.
Ten candidates are in the running for the Chairperson’s seat. Five of them will face the panel on October 1: Rebecca Kavutha Mutia (Kitui), Abdikadir Oman Aden (Garissa), Gilbert William Opanga (Vihiga), Monicah Nanyumuk Chentrich (Nakuru), and Abuga Kennedy Kaunda (Kisii).
The remaining five Nelly Karimi Mbugua (Meru), Saeed Mutua Mwangi (Kitui), Justa Wavinya Mwangi (Embu), Humphrey Kimani Njuguna (Murang’a), and Abdillahi Sagaf Alawy (Kwale) will be interviewed on October 2.
For the eight advertised member slots, 51 candidates have been shortlisted. Their interviews are scheduled for October 3, 6–9, 13, and 14, 2025, at the PSC headquarters on Harambee Avenue, Nairobi. Candidates have been asked to arrive at least 30 minutes before their scheduled sessions.
The Commission also invited the public to submit any objections or credible information regarding the shortlisted candidates before September 30.
Submissions should be made through sworn affidavits and delivered either via email (nlc2025@publicservice.go.ke) or in person at PSC offices, 4th floor, Commission House, Harambee Avenue.
